Cookie Policy

What cookies we use, why we use them, and how to control them.

Last updated: 9 May 2026 · Compliant with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), the ePrivacy Directive, and Greek Law 4624/2019.

    1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. Cookies allow a site to recognise your browser, remember preferences, and (where you have agreed) track your behaviour for analytics or advertising. Some cookies are set by us; others are set by trusted third parties such as Google.

    2. Categories of cookies we use

    Strictly necessary (always active)

These keep the site functional. They cannot be disabled because the site would not work without them. No personal identifiers are collected.

    • cookie_consent_v1 (localStorage, 12 months) — remembers whether you accepted or declined optional cookies.
    • __cf_bm (Cloudflare, 30 minutes) — bot management to protect the site from abuse.

Marketing & advertising (only with your consent)

Set by Google Ads to measure conversions and serve relevant remarketing. Activated only after you click Accept all on the cookie banner. We use Google Consent Mode v2 — until you accept, no advertising cookies are written and no personally identifying data leaves your browser.

    • _gcl_au (Google, 90 days) — conversion linking.
    • _gads / IDE (Google / DoubleClick, up to 13 months) — ad personalisation and frequency capping.
    • _gcl_aw / _gcl_dc (Google, 90 days) — campaign click attribution.

    Analytics (only with your consent)

Helps us understand how charterers find us and which catamarans interest them most. Aggregated, never sold.

    • _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics, 24 months) — anonymous session and visitor counts. Currently active only if Google Analytics 4 is later linked alongside the existing Google Ads tag.

    3. How we obtain your consent

On your first visit a banner appears at the bottom of every page. Until you click Accept all, all advertising and analytics cookies are denied via Google Consent Mode v2. Clicking Essential only or closing the banner keeps tracking off. Your choice is stored in your browser's localStorage and respected on subsequent visits.

    4. Withdrawing or changing your consent

You can change your mind at any time. Two ways:

    • Clear your browser's localStorage / cookies for athena-catamarans.com → reload → the banner reappears and you can choose again.
    • In Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → athena-catamarans.com → Clear data.

    5. Third-party cookies — who sets them and why

    • Google Ireland Ltd — Google Ads conversion tracking. Privacy policy. You can opt out site-wide at adssettings.google.com.
    • Cloudflare Inc. — bot management and edge security. No identifiers persisted beyond the session. Privacy policy.
    • Supabase Inc. — backend service for booking inquiries and call-intent logging. No browser cookies set; data is sent via authenticated REST. Privacy policy.

    6. Browser-level controls

You can also block or delete cookies from your browser at any time:

Note: blocking strictly necessary cookies may break the booking flow.

    7. Updates to this policy

We refresh this policy whenever we add, remove, or change a tracking technology. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes are also surfaced in the cookie banner so you can re-evaluate consent.
