The Real 2026 Catamaran Charter Cost Guide for Greece

3 May 2026 8 min readBy Athena Charter Team

Most charter cost articles online quote a weekly rate and call it a day. The honest number — what actually leaves your bank account for a week on a catamaran in Greece in 2026 — has at least seven line items. Here is what they are, with real 2026 prices for the boats we operate.

The headline rate (the only number most sites show)

    CatamaranLengthCabinsSkippered weekly rate (low/high season)
    Excess 11 'Phos'11.4 m4€2,100 / €2,800
    Bali 4.1 'Crystal Waters'12.4 m4€2,800 / €3,800
    Lagoon 40 'Chios'11.7 m4€2,500 / €3,400
    Lagoon 42 'Queen Annezia'12.8 m4€3,000 / €4,100

    **Crewed luxury**
    S/Cat Sameli (Balance 76)23 m5€40,000 (all-inclusive)
    P/Cat D2 (FP Power 67)20.4 m4€33,000 (all-inclusive)
    P/Cat Evita (Nauticks N62)18.8 m5€41,000 (all-inclusive)

    What the headline rate covers

    • The yacht itself for seven days.
    • The captain (skippered charters) — fee included for our skippered fleet.
    • Standard equipment: dinghy + outboard, bimini, GPS, safety gear, bed linens, cooking equipment, basic snorkelling gear.
    • Insurance — hull, P&I, third-party — at the legal levels required by Greek charter law.

What the headline rate does NOT cover (skippered fleet)

This is where uninformed charterers get sticker-shocked at the marina. Realistic add-ons for a 7-day Ionian or Cyclades skippered charter on a 46–50 ft catamaran:

    ItemTypical 2026 costNotes
Charter package (obligatory cleaning + linens)€450–€600One-off per booking
Damage deposit (refundable)€1,000–€3,000Held during charter, released on safe return
Damage waiver (if you don't want the deposit)€350–€500/weekOptional
Fuel€350–€700Depends on route and engine hours
Marina fees (transit nights)€250–€600Free at home base, paid at other harbours
Provisioning (food + drink)€600–€1,400DIY at supermarket or our pre-stock service
    Captain's daily allowance€70 × 7 = €490Industry-standard food + small extras
Captain's tip (customary, not obligatory)€350–€70010–15 % of captain weekly rate
One-way fee (if not returning to base)€400–€800Skip if circular itinerary

A realistic all-in for a Lagoon 46 family charter from Lefkas in late June:

    • Base rate: €3,371
    • Charter package: €450
    • Damage waiver: €350
    • Fuel: €450
    • Marina fees: €350
    • Provisioning: €900
    • Captain's allowance + tip: €750
    • Total ≈ €6,621 for a family of 8 over 7 days = €830/person/week.

What the headline rate covers (crewed luxury)

For luxury crewed (Sameli, D2, Evita), the €33–41k weekly rate is all-inclusive:

    • Yacht + full crew (captain, hostess, chef, sometimes deckhand)
    • All meals — breakfast, lunch, dinner — by the on-board chef
    • Premium beverages: wine, spirits, beer, coffee, juices
    • Water toys: Seabob, paddleboards, snorkel gear, kayak, sometimes a jetski
    • Fuel, port fees, end-of-charter cleaning
    • Provisioning, on-board Wi-Fi

Charterers only pay extra for: airport transfers, optional excursions ashore, crew tip (industry standard 5–15 % of charter fee).

How to keep the bill down

    • Shoulder season (May, October) — same boat, ~25 % lower base rate, fewer crowds, warmer evenings than you'd guess.
    • Provision yourself at the Lidl or AB Vasilopoulos in Lefkas Town instead of the marina-side store. €200 saved per week typically.
    • Stay at anchor rather than in marinas every night. Anchorages are free, marina nights are €40–€100/night.
    • Don't skip the damage waiver unless you sail often. The €350 fee is much less stressful than worrying about a €2,500 deposit hold.

    Booking timeline

We lock dates with a 15 % deposit. A second 35 % is due two weeks before departure. The final 50 % is paid the morning of your charter, in cash or by transfer. Optional extras (provisioning, transfers, water toys) are settled with the captain at the marina.

Ready to model your own number? Send our charter team your dates and we'll quote line-by-line for the boats that fit. No obligation.
